eMoovit Technology Sdn Bhd, established in 2016, develops software for autonomous vehicles. Our technology is compatible with different vehicle types, focusing on self-driving systems for transport and logistics. We are the first company in Malaysia to test self-driving cars on public roads, starting in Cyberjaya
THE GENESIS OF EMOOVIT
eMoovit Technology Sdn Bhd was founded in 2016 as a Malaysian tech company specializing in developing autonomous driving solutions. The company creates vehicle-agnostic driverless software, meaning our technology can be applied to various types of vehicles. From the start, eMoovit focused on autonomous mobility solutions for urban transportation, such as self-driving cars, electric buses, and last-mile logistics.
The company gained prominence by becoming the first in Malaysia to receive approval for testing autonomous vehicles on public roads in Cyberjaya. This was a significant step in Malaysia’s efforts to build infrastructure for autonomous driving, with eMoovit playing a key role in shaping the country's future in this space.
FIRST AV PROTOTYPE
eMoovit Technology’s first autonomous vehicle (AV) prototype was built on a revamped Proton Exora, one of Malaysia’s most popular multi-purpose vehicles (MPV). This groundbreaking prototype was engineered to test the full capabilities of eMoovit’s cutting-edge driverless software on public roads. Equipped with advanced sensors and eMoovit's self-driving technology, allowing it to navigate autonomously in mix road environment.
FIRST DEBUT IN NATIONAL MEDIA
eMoovit Technology made its first significant debut in national media in 2019 when it showcase the technology to the Prime Minister of Malaysia. This breakthrough was widely covered in national media outlets, highlighting the company's efforts in developing autonomous driving technology. As it became a symbol of Malaysia’s push towards self-driving vehicle innovation. The coverage emphasized the potential for autonomous systems to transform urban mobility and modernization of agriculture industries.
PUBLIC TESTING
eMoovit Technology made history by launching public tests of its autonomous vehicle in Cyberjaya after receiving approval from Malaysian authorities. These trials took place on the Malaysia Autonomous Vehicle (MyAV) Testing Route, a dedicated zone for assessing self-driving vehicles on public roads. This milestone marked the first legal public test of autonomous vehicles by a Malaysian company, featuring a modified Proton Exora powered by eMoovit’s versatile, vehicle-agnostic driverless software. The route covered approximately 10 kilometres around the Futurise campus in Cyberjaya, with a safety officer on board at all times to monitor the trials and ensure smooth operation.
New Product Release
eMoovit Technology has released it first autonomous electric buses as part of Malaysia’s push toward sustainable and smart urban mobility. Our autonomous electric bus is designed for public transport and aims to address the first/last-mile transportation solutions. In collaboration with Futurise and under preview of MyAV testing guideline from Ministry of Transport, eMoovit has been testing the autonomous electric bus to ensure safety and operational standard.
